Cula Moya Fine Art Studio
Welcome to Cula Moya Fine Art Studio, nestled in the beautiful town of Pegasus in the Waimakariri District of Aotearoa New Zealand. Located in the heart of Canterbury on the South Island, this studio is the creative home of artist Moya Deacon Radley.
Moya's work reflects a profound connection to the natural world. Working primarily in oil and artist pencil, she is known for her detailed botanical studies, evocative landscapes and contemplative still life paintings.
Originally from South Africa, Moya now calls New Zealand home, drawing deep inspiration from its diverse and ever-changing landscapes. Her art is a journey of belonging - an exploration of place, memory and nature.
The studio's name, Cula Moya, meaning "singing wind" in Zulu and Sotho, is a tribute to Moya's African roots. Her own name, Moya, translates to "wind", a powerful symbol in many African cultures of spirit, movement and creative force. Cula Moya is both a personal homage and a celebration of the rich tradition of artistic expression in South African communities - a place where the wind sings with imagination and memory, and creativity finds its voice.
